Every Watt You Do Not Let In Is a Watt You Do Not Cool

Data center design attention goes to the mechanical plant, and understandably so. But the building envelope sets the load that plant has to carry, and in Texas that is not a rounding error.

A continuously insulated shell reduces solar and ambient heat gain across the whole structure, every hour of every day, with no moving parts and nothing to maintain. It is the one efficiency measure that does not degrade, does not need commissioning, and does not fail at 3am.

Inside, the same panel technology solves a different problem. Hot and cold aisle containment works only if the separation is actually sealed — a partition with gaps recirculates hot air back to the intakes and quietly erodes the efficiency the containment was built for. Insulated panels cut to your dimensions close those paths properly, and can be fitted around racks, cable trays, and existing containment hardware rather than requiring the room to be cleared.

Two adjacent problems come with the same construction method. Standby generators, chillers, and switchgear yards create noise that becomes a neighbor issue as development moves toward the site, and sound barrier panel enclosures address it without restricting airflow or service access. Battery and UPS rooms need controlled temperature with fire-rated assemblies and properly sealed penetrations.

Data Center Panel Questions

Can containment walls go in around live racks?Yes. Panels are cut to your dimensions and assembled in place, so we can fit around racks, trays, and existing hardware. Tell us what cannot be powered down and we will sequence to it.

What R-value should a data center envelope be?It depends on the mechanical design and how much of the load you want the envelope to carry, but Texas ambient conditions justify more insulation than the same building would need in a cooler climate. We spec against your actual cooling design, not a rule of thumb.

Do you handle generator noise enclosures?Yes, using the same panel systems. The critical detail is designing in the airflow and service access the equipment needs, because an enclosure that chokes a generator or blocks a service call will not stay in place.

Can you work to a construction schedule?Yes, and we will give you a real lead time before you commit. Sourcing from Fort Worth and Lewisville plants helps considerably when the envelope sits on the critical path.
