A reach-in glass door is the only part of your cold storage a customer ever touches, which makes it a merchandising decision as much as a refrigeration one. The product behind clear, evenly lit glass sells. The product behind a fogged door with a flickering strip light does not.
Three things decide whether a glass door does its job. Clarity comes from double-pane tempered construction with the right coating, so the glass stays clear through a Texas summer instead of fogging every time somebody opens it. Light comes from full-height LED strips in the mullions rather than a single top-mounted fixture, which is what kills the shadow across the bottom two shelves where impulse product usually sits. Frame heat keeps the perimeter from sweating and, in a freezer, from icing shut.
Our standard door is 30 by 79 inches, which fits the door frames most c-store and grocery cooler walls were built around. That matters for replacement work: a stock size means we can swap a failed door quickly instead of ordering a custom unit and leaving you with a plywood panel in the meantime.
The usual applications are beer caves, beverage walls, and grab-and-go retail — anywhere the cooler is on the sales floor and the wall is doing double duty as a display.
